Archicad 30, the 30th version of Graphisoft’s BIM program, has been unveiled within the company’s 2026 portfolio. Next to a list of modelling and documentation improvements, the company announced a new top subscription tier called Archicad Max and set out an AI roadmap, much of it still in development. What follows is how Graphisoft describes the release; it says more will be shown at its Ignite online event on 13 October 2026.

What Archicad 30 changes in daily modelling

Most of the updates aim at the routine of building and documenting a model. Windows users get Dark Mode. Expanded Show on Stories settings give more control over how walls appear on the levels above and below their home story. Viewpoints in the Navigator can be arranged in custom folders by drag and drop, and Project Info has been rebuilt with custom groups, inline editing and search. Stairs can toggle finishes per view, door and window settings gain clickable previews, Tool Settings get a property search, and labels and dimension witness lines offer more options.

For data exchange, Graphisoft lists a connection for swapping models, documents and project data with Autodesk Forma in their native formats, better IFC4x3 import and more selective import of Revit 2026 families. MEP Designer adds basic electrical power design and hydronic sizing and is launching in more than 40 further markets.

Archicad Max joins Studio and Collaborate

Archicad Max becomes the third plan next to Archicad Studio and Archicad Collaborate. Graphisoft aims it at practices on large, complex and data driven projects that want wider access to Graphisoft and Nemetschek Group technology across AI, visualisation, design intelligence and connected workflows. Collaborate is still positioned as the step up for Studio customers whose projects and teams are getting more complex.

The AI roadmap, with caveats

The AI side of the announcement is the least concrete. An updated AI Visualizer lets users choose between image generation models, among them Nano Banana Pro, with Graphisoft promising better results but showing no benchmarks. The company lists Archicad MCP as a beta: support for the Model Context Protocol, so that AI tools that understand the project can answer questions, make edits and run batch changes. AEC Magazine notes the announcement does not explain how that link works in practice or when it will be generally available.

An AI Assistant for learning the software and best practice is also being developed, and AI Assistant Spaces would let an office organise its own documents into a knowledge base the assistant can draw on. Beyond Archicad, Graphisoft points to Nemetschek Creator, a cloud platform for early stage design with feasibility and sustainability insight and links into Archicad, with early access for Creator and the Open Collaboration Platform planned for October. Graphisoft itself cautions that release dates, features, packaging and regional availability may vary.
