Nestled on a generous lakeside plot and positioned at its highest vantage point, Villa O by YCL Studio offers an immersive connection to nature through a unique circular architectural form. Concept & Design

The villa’s defining feature is its circular volume, divided internally by a central cross-shaped space that organizes the plan into four distinct segments: two bedroom wings, a guest area, and a spa zone. This central “plus” space functions as the vibrant heart of the home, combining the hall, kitchen, dining, and living areas into one luminous, dynamic environment.

Four semi-enclosed, sunken courtyards are carefully integrated into the structure, preserving the purity of the circular form while seamlessly blending interior and exterior. These courtyards frame views and usher natural elements—light, air, greenery—into the home’s core.

Spatial Arrangement

  • Central Cross (“Plus”) Space: The open, transparent hub uniting primary living functions

  • Segment 1: Bedrooms with views toward the entrance and forest

  • Segment 2: Guest quarters

  • Segment 3: Spa zone offering tranquility and privacy

  • Segment 4: Living areas overlooking open landscape and lake

Each arm of the plan uniquely connects occupants to a different panorama, ensuring an intimate and varied experience of the site.

Architectural Features

A gently slanted concrete wall within the interiors adds sculptural character and spatial complexity, breaking conventional lines and contributing to a distinctive silhouette visible from the exterior. The interplay between thermowood cladding and exposed concrete accentuates the villa’s modern yet organic aesthetic, contrasting harmoniously with the natural setting.

Light & Orientation

The villa’s orientation to all four cardinal directions optimizes natural light and ventilation throughout the day. Public and social spaces are open and transparent at the core, while more private functions are tucked discreetly along the perimeter, balancing openness with intimacy.

Summary

Villa O stands as a bold architectural statement: a harmonious blend of organic form, site responsiveness, and spatial clarity. It invites its inhabitants to experience nature intimately while enjoying thoughtfully crafted interiors that redefine contemporary living.
