Located just steps from the Pacific Ocean in the tranquil beauty of Avellanas, Costa Rica, Indo Avellanas is a luxury residential enclave designed to cultivate an intimate, wellness-oriented lifestyle. Comprising a collection of six one- and two-bedroom villas, the development is envisioned as a sanctuary for those seeking deeper connection with nature, community, and intentional living in this unique coastal region.
Design Concept
The six villas follow two distinct design typologies:
-
Two-bedroom units
-
One-bedroom units
Each is organized around an open-plan living space that extends fluidly to a private terrace and plunge pool. This spatial arrangement dissolves the boundary between indoor and outdoor living, inviting residents to engage with the surrounding mature hardwoods and tropical gardens in a seamless daily rhythm.
Site Sensitivity and Construction
A defining principle of the project was to preserve the ecological richness of the site. The placement of all villas was carefully orchestrated to avoid disturbing any existing mature trees. Lightweight steel framing and locally sourced teak were selected as primary materials—balancing durability and elegance while minimizing environmental impact.
Craft, Comfort, and Connection
Interiors are warm and understated, emphasizing natural textures, handcrafted details, and an open-air quality that reflects the rhythms of coastal living. Every element—from kitchens to bathrooms—prioritizes a sense of retreat, allowing light, air, and landscape to shape the experience of the space.
A Holistic Vision
Indo Avellanas is more than a residential development—it is a curated community tailored for modern travelers and remote residents seeking an immersive Costa Rican lifestyle. By harmonizing architectural sensitivity with ecological stewardship, the project sets a quiet benchmark for refined, responsible coastal living.
